Answer about the amount of minimum AZ's per region is wrong. The right answer is 2 AZ's

Old posts, but just wanted to add some clarity. Per AWS documentation, it is now a minimum of 3 AZs per Region.
us-west-1 now has: N. California (us-west-1a, us-west-1b, us-west-1c)
Worldwide, there are still some exceptions with only 2 AZs in a region due to geographical issues.
